We collect your name, phone number, email, date of birth, and location when you create an account. During identity verification, we also collect a government ID and a selfie for safety matching. Trip posts you create may include photos, descriptions, and travel dates.

How we use your information

Your information is used to verify your identity, connect you with other verified travellers, personalise trip recommendations, and respond to support requests. We never sell your personal data to third parties.

Identity verification & safety

ID and selfie documents are reviewed by our safety team solely to confirm you are who you say you are. Documents are stored securely and are not shared publicly on your profile.

Data sharing

We share limited profile information (name, city, verification badge) with other travellers you choose to connect with on a trip. We may share data with law enforcement only when legally required.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate details, or delete your account at any time from Profile Settings or by contacting support@herbackpack.app.
